Need Actress to Play April O'Neil in Ninja Turtles Fan Film
Posted: March 5, 2010
I'm finishing up the remaining shots for my Ninja Turtles fan film "Casey Jones" next week, and I need to hire an actress to play April O'Neil, a young television news reporter. The character makes two news casts, one during sunset and one at night. So I can get both scenes in one day. It shouldn't take more than 6 hours all together, and I'm looking to shoot around March 11th. The catch is that I am portraying the character as she appears in the original 1980s cartoon show. So you will most likely need to cut and dye your hair for the part. I know that is a lot to ask of an actress, but the correct look is very important for this project. Compensation is $200 plus salon expenses.
I have a link to some clips (below) from our film to give you an idea of this production's style and quality. If you're interested in being considered for the role, please send a headshot and resume to the e-mail address above. Thank you very much for your help. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Film Editor Needed - Training Video
Posted: March 3, 2010
Need someone to edit a training video that used green screen. The camera used was a Panasonic HPX 170 so the footage is from cards, not tape. The total onscreen time would be something like 30 minutes, but the actors are just talking heads speaking directly into the camera and I will supply a script and explain the direction. I have Final Cut Pro Studio 3 and you can use my computer at my place or agree to meet somewhere if you are proficient in the skills, but don't have the tools at the moment.
Please reply to discuss rates. I am looking to have this completed as soon as possible.
Thanks!

Casting Call for UT MFA 16mm short 'Big-Screen TV'
Posted: March 1, 2010
UT grad student seeking actors for a 16mm project titled "Big-Screen TV", wherein a determined man tries to bring home a big-screen TV that he finds on the street. It's a goofy but good-natured story, and the film should have a good mix of physical comedy and sharp dialogue. I'm especially looking for actors with strong backgrounds in improv and physical comedy.
MARK : 30's-40's. Our hero has visions of family movie night on the big-screen dancing in his head. Fundamentally an optimist.
LISA : 30's-40's. Married to Mark, She appreciates his enthusiasm, but is often frustrated by having to be the pragmatic one while her husband's head is in the clouds.
STEVE : 20's-30's. Steve also wants the TV. It's not clear exactly what he wants to do with it, but it's definitely not as wholesome as family movie night.
The shoot days are March 23-25, and I'd like to do a few rehearsals in the weeks leading up to the shoot. No monetary compensation, but meals and a DVD copy will be provided.

Creating Interview Montage
Posted: February 26, 2010
TALK TO ME ABOUT LOVE
Local Filmmaker Javier Bonafont is creating an "interview montage" of people of all ages and types on the subject of Love.
Children, Singles, Couples, Divorcees, Widows, Swingers, Preachers or Prostitutes, Gay or Straight, all kinds of people.
If you can spare five minutes and have something to say about what love is or what love isn't, or what love feels like, or what love has done to you or made you do, I would love to hear from you and have you on camera.
Basically I am looking for answers that can start like this:
" Love is...." (beautiful, stupid, yucky, whatever)
or "Love is like..." (a watermelon, a can of worms, a dance in the rain with fred astaire... whatever)
" The craziest/silliest/stupidest thing I did for love was...." (fill in the
story)
and similar types of questions. most of these are questions that can be answered in a sentence or a paragraph or even a word. If you have five different answers, great, i'll record all five, or all twelve.
You don't need to be rehearsed, you don't need a polished story. You don't need to be a performer. Your answers can be one word or one page. I need all kinds.
There is no pay for this. Its a project that will likely be part of a performance by Borealis Dance in a few months and then possibly continue to evolve.
If interested, just drop me an email at
bonafont@gmail.com with the subject LOVE and in a few days I'll send out some potential scheduling info.
Also, if you want to shoot the interview yourself, or interview your friends, and then provide me the footage, let me know and I'll send you the specifics of how I would need it. If you have an organization that might have a lot of interested people, or passerbys that would be interested, I can set up a camera there. Open to a lot of options to gather as many responses as I can.
